Well it seems that we don’t have to travel to a foreign land to be involved with Christian radio.  Since returning to Pennsylvania from Benin, West Africa, I (Dave) have been very busy with some projects at WDAC and WBYN-FM.  WDAC is located in Lancaster, PA and WBYN-FM is in Boyertown, PA.  Both of these are Christian stations serving the southcentral Pennsylvania area.

While we were in Benin an electircal storm did extensive damage to the equipment at WDAC.  I have been involved not only in the repair of the damage but also a major upgrade to the station.  The studios are being updated to use new state-of-the-art digital consoles.  When completed audio will be created digitally in a computer and sent to the transmitter in all digital format. What used to take thousands of feet of wire can now be done on a few pairs of Ethernet cable.  Truly amazing technology.

In addition to the above project I have been involved with maintenance and upgrades at WBYN-FM as well.  Both stations are under the same ownership.

WDAC can be heard on-line at http://wdac.com/streaming.html. You can choose from two program streams … one is traditional and the other is more contemporary.    The station is commercial and self supporting.  WBYN can be heard live at http://www.wbynfm.com/index.php/listen-on-line/

There are possibilities for future trips for early next year.  Nothing to report yet on where or when.
